The Honeyhaus At Bold Venture Farm

We will have honey for sale in the fall of  2008.

We are purchasing more bees and equipment this month to expand our business.  I currently have 8 hives and will be adding 16 more this spring.  This will give me 24 hives and I'm shooting for 100. We will also be planting an apple orchard, which will provide the opportunity for us to harvest "Apple Blossom Honey", as well as "Wildflower".  We will also be producing our own pure beeswax candles and offering them for sale.

For information on apples, please visit the Applehaus page.

For information on beeswax candles, please visity the Candlehaus page.

Keep checking back throughout the entire website for changes to come.

We choose to use no chemicals in our hives.  This results in healthier bees, and healthy honey and beeswax.  It is safer for the consumer, and safer for the environment.

First swarm of the 2008 season caught on April 16th.

They measured about 3 feet from top to bottom.

Some Facts About Honey

Beeswax is produced when honeybees consume honey. It takes about 8 1/2 lbs of honey to produce one pound of beeswax.

To make 1 lb. of honey, bees must collect nectar from 2 million flowers and 55,000 collective miles of flight must be undertaken to provide this pound.
